Appeals, Complaints & Professional Misconduct
Handling Appeals, Complaints, and Professional Misconduct in the CMC Certification Process
The assessment, issuance, and renewal of the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation must be conducted based on the principles of fairness, transparency, impartiality, and professional accountability. In line with the requirements of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) and the ISO/IEC 17024 standard, the Iran Management Consultants Association (IMCA) has developed a formal bylaw for the registration, review, and handling of Appeals, Complaints, and Professional Misconduct cases.
Purpose of this Bylaw
- Establishing a clear, structured, and reliable mechanism for handling appeals and complaints
- Ensuring complete impartiality in decision-making
- Enhancing the quality, transparency, and integrity of all CMC-related processes
- Protecting the rights of applicants, assessors, and certificate holders
- Safeguarding the professional credibility of the CMC designation at both national and international levels
This system is implemented by an independent Appeals, Complaints, and Misconduct Committee in collaboration with the CMC Commission. All proceedings are carried out with strict adherence to confidentiality, fairness, and formal documentation requirements.
Based on this bylaw
- Applicants may submit an appeal regarding the outcome of their assessment or certification decision.
- Individuals or organizations may file a complaint concerning conduct, performance, or any aspect of the assessment process.
- Professional misconduct by CMC certificate holders is reviewed by the independent committee, which issues the necessary disciplinary decisions.
The full process workflow, timelines, decision-making procedures, and notification methods are detailed in the official bylaw (CMC-B-02), which is publicly available.
